1.) Stock your Pantry:

The biggest and shiniest tip I can pass along about meal prepping is to do just that, prep. Setting aside some time to go through your pantry to see what you already have will save you the dreaded duplicate spending at the grocery store or even worse, food expiration. Once you know what your cupboards are crack-a-lacking, you can make a list and dive into the world wide web for some healthy recipes. Start small and make sure that each recipe doesn’t contain more than a handful of steps. You will thank yourself when it comes to prepping meals for the seven days ahead of you.


2.) Dedicate Sunday Evening to the Kitchen:

Nothing is worse than having all of your glorious fruits and veggies waiting, untouched in the fridge on Monday morning. You know that they should be ready to go, but now you are - and you don’t have the time to whip together a breakfast AND a lunch. Making overnight oats or egg bake muffins are the easiest and most effective ways to break the fast on the go. If you pre-portion your lunch, all you will need to do is toss it in a bag and look forward to it until noon rolls in. Sunday evening may usually be your wind down time so throw on some tunes and turn up the stove - your future self will want to give you a kiss!


3.) Have a backup plan:

We have all been there. You made it through the entire day without derailing from your meal plan, but as you’re driving home your stomach starts to whirl and you realize how dang hungry you are. You pass the fast food signs at each exit and you start thinking, “will one burger really hurt?” The answer is no, but you worked so hard and you planned for this like the all-star you are. Stashing some raw almonds/nuts in your car can curb the cravings until your car is parked in your driveway. Lara Bars are also healthy and can be easily thrown in your purse or briefcase for those desperate moments.
